Being Homeschooled...

NEWS FLASH, "Homeschoolers are taking over the world! They are invading our churches(or starting their own), shopping in our malls, and eating in our restaurants. Beware! These beings even look like normal people."
Don't cry little girl! Someone will save you!! Wait, oh no. She's a homeschooler too!

In all seriousness, homeschoolers are just normal people(for the most part) who do their chores, finish school assignments, and hang out with friends. Oh, and occasionally wear long skirts/jumpers and make whole wheat bread. (But doesn't everybody?!?)

Being homeschooled, like anything, has its advantages and disadvantages. Note: The preceding list is subject to vary due to a number of variables including past experiences, teachers (a.k.a. mom), and the students themselves. Plus this list doesn't include all advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages:
  1. Being able to count "blogging" as part of your writing credit.
  2. Finishing your school assignments before lunch and having the whole afternoon to do whatever.
  3. Having your teacher there whenever you have a question.
  4. Not having to really "go" anywhere.
  5. Having your mom as your teacher. This one could go either way.
  6. Being able to pray to and worship God freely throughout the day.
 Disadvantages:
  1. Procrastinating is easier.
  2. Being with your family all day.(but not as bad as it may seem)
  3. Not being around your friends during school hours.
  4.  Less opportunities for extra curricular activities.
  5. The later you sleep in, the less time you have to finish school and chores. (Unless you're like me and have no trouble getting up at 6:00 AM)
And trust me, these are not nearly all of them. Each family is different. What are some of your advantages/disadvantages?

God bless!

Duck Tape Hairbows

Hey Y'all! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I have been keeping busy with my summer job. Anyway...

Last Friday was my 17th birthday(I feel SO old!), and my mom threw a surprise party for me. Thank you to mom and all my guests, I had so much fun. I love you guys!

Getting back to the reason for the post, for my birthday my brother Barrett gave me some DUCK TAPE! Duck tape is awesome! Not only can you fix things with it, you can also make REALLY cute crafts,
like hairbows.

You can add bobby pins to the finished product.

Pull out some of your duck tape in whatever color you like.

Cut off a strip twice as long as you want your bow to be. I cut mine about 6 inches long.

Take your strip of duck tape and...

Fold it in half. You may need to trim the ends to get rid of any sticky parts.

To find the center of the tape, I fold it in half again and run my nail along the crease.(It will create a faint line like in the picture above.)

Press your strip into a fan shape.

Then cut a little piece of tape. This piece can be made of the same color or a different color.

Wrap this piece around the center of your bow.

Now you have a finished duck tape hairbow!

To attach a bobby pin, simply insert the pin into the back part of the bow.

How cute! :D

God bless!
