Spring Break

Hey Y'all! It's the first day of spring! (officially...) And it is finally starting to warm up!  :D  I went with my family to Texas for spring break this year to visit more family, historical sites, Sea World, etc. We had sooo much fun! Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the trip...

This is my absolutely adorable cousin Kaden who is firing off one of the cannons inside the Alamo.

Vacation Pics!...Wrapping Up

Here are some other sights to see in St. Augustine. We have not been to all of these yet.
(Not pictured)
The Lightner Museum
The Fountain of Youth
Colonial Spanish Quarters
St. George Street
St. Augustine Alligator Farm
St. Augustine Lighthouse
Potter's Wax Museum
A1A Ale Works-Really good food, plus they make their own root beer! It is some of the best root beer that I have ever had!
Claude's Chocolate-I would have had pictures but my chocolate went to fast. : )
The Ancient Olive-They specialize in gourmet olive oils and balsamic vinegars.

Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum
 The Bridge of Lions
 The Oldest Store Museum
 And last but not least...
The Columbia.
This restaurant, established in 1905, specializes in Cuban and Spanish food. The food is always excellent! I even have the cookbook. : ) If you're ever in St. Augustine, don't forget to visit the Columbia and try the 1905 salad.

Vacation Pics!...The Old Jail

Built in 1891, the old St. Johns County Jail is another cool sight to see. It had a total of 8 men who were hung during the jail's history. The jail also had an office and living quarters for the sheriff and his family. It served as the county jail until 1953. The people who built the old jail also built Alcatraz.

Dad and Stephen, doing their time.
Sheriff Granny and Stephen the crook. She was very proud of herself.

 We knew this would happen.

Vacation Pics!...The Fort

Here are some pictures of the Castillo de San Marcos, Saint Augustine's fort. The fort is made out of a substance known as coquina, crushed up shells mixed with limestone. Coquina is Spanish for "little shell." The shells were quarried from Anastasia Island. Construction of the fort began in 1672 and ended in 1695. This is one of my favorite places to visit in St. Augustine. It has lots of cool history!

Vacation Pics!...The Trip Down

It was a long ride down to Florida but we finally made it. (After 13 hours and some duck tape)

Happy campers still hours away from the beach.

"I've got an idea," says the girl to the boy, "let's use our duck tape to create something and pass the time!"

"Great idea, we'll make a hat!" says the boy.

Though very difficult to do in a moving vehicle, they completed their hat after 100 miles in southern Georgia.

 Doesn't he look dashing!

He also needed a mustache with matching goatee.

A duck tape bracelet and facial hair for the lady.

Or maybe not...

God bless!

P.S. More to follow...
