Vacation Pics!...The Fort

Here are some pictures of the Castillo de San Marcos, Saint Augustine's fort. The fort is made out of a substance known as coquina, crushed up shells mixed with limestone. Coquina is Spanish for "little shell." The shells were quarried from Anastasia Island. Construction of the fort began in 1672 and ended in 1695. This is one of my favorite places to visit in St. Augustine. It has lots of cool history!
